From the series "When Nature Comes to Us"
The series "When Nature Comes to Us" shows wild animals at iconic transport hubs around the world.
Railway stations, terminals and transit points where millions of people travel daily and where movement, trade and global networking become visible.
The animals appear in these places not as a disturbance, but as a silent presence.
They represent a nature that is unintentionally moving along with it – through global trade, tourism and transport – and is increasingly entering spaces that were not created for it.
Each work in the series is conceived as a quiet observation of this shift and its consequences for existing ecosystems.
In this work, a Spanish bull stands in one of New York's major train stations.
A place of constant passage, structure, and speed.
The bull appears here not as a symbol, but as an animal.
Unmoved. Awake. Present.
The encounter between animal and architecture creates a quiet tension.
Between movement and stillness.
Between function and presence.
The work adds an additional layer to the series.
The bull, culturally and historically highly charged, is detached from its usual context and placed in a global transit space.
This reveals how projections arise – and what remains when these projections recede.
