A silent giant of the North Sea. Its shell can weigh over three kilograms – grown in cold water, shaped by the tides and rocks. It lives hidden among rocks and seaweed, living up to twenty years, slow and deliberate. It is not yet considered endangered, but the pressure of fishing and the changes to its habitat are leaving their mark. A symbol of the strength, resilience, and vulnerability of the sea.
