Gazelle - from 0 to 60 km/h in 3 sec.

The idea for this work originated during visits to Kruger National Park.

There, you often only see a gazelle for a brief moment. A calm gaze. A tense posture.

Then she disappears back into the open landscape. This moment stayed with me and became the inspiration for this picture. The backless sofa was a deliberate choice.

It should evoke a feeling of air and freedom. A clear surface that reflects the wide leaps and lightness of this gazelle. Nothing heavy. Nothing restrictive. Just a silent space in which her presence can resonate.

The gazelle is a reminder of the beauty of African nature and the reality that many of its habitats are shrinking. Agriculture, roads, settlements, and hunting are changing regions where these animals have lived for centuries. Some populations have declined significantly in recent decades.

The gazelle therefore also represents responsibility. Respect. The question of how we can preserve nature. This work combines a personal moment from Kruger National Park with a tranquil pictorial space. The gazelle rests, yet one senses its energy and alertness. An animal, light and powerful at the same time.
